Distributed cloud native applications are inheritenly complex to observe as these applications tend to include synchronous and asynchornous communication pattenrs. Making these applications resillient to failure and reliable has been the focus of the cloud native community for the last 10 years. Today with modern workloads and agentic applications, new protocols are being introduced and new architectural patterns are emerging. In this presentation we will look at what it takes to build, observe and make agentic applications scalable and resilient using Dapr Workflows and OpenTelemetry. We will look at the new protocols that are being introduced and the new challenges presented by this new breed of applications.
